APPLICATION FORM

Thank you for your interest in the Haytaian Family Scholarship Program.
Amanda and Peter Haytaian have generously endowed The Amanda and Peter Haytaian Family Saint Stepanos Sunday School Scholarship. This scholarship will be awarded to deserving parishioners and graduate(s) of the Saint Stepanos Sunday School program who embody the Christian trait of dedication to service for others.
The scholarship provides awards annually in the amount of up to $10,000 to one or more deserving applicants.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

In order to be eligible for a Haytaian Family Scholarship, you must meet the following criteria:

Be a parishioner (or child of a parishioner) and graduate of the Saint Stepanos Sunday School program, and be participatory in the church (such as singing in the choir, volunteering at church, volunteering for the women’s guild, the food drive, the annual picnic, and BBQ);
Have graduated or will graduate from high school (or have earned or will earn a high school equivalency diploma) by the end of the 2022-23 academic year;
Graduated or will graduate with a GPA of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale;
Intend to enroll or is enrolled in a full-time associate or bachelor’s degree program no later than the Spring term of the 2022-23 academic year;
Have a meaningful unmet financial need;
Complete the application (available from the Parish Office) and submit a 250-word essay on “the importance of service above self” before 5:00 PM Tuesday, 31 January 2023;
Successful applicants will be notified of before 5:00 PM Tuesday, 28 February 2023; and
All scholarships are awarded at the sole discretion of the Selection Committee.

APPLICATION PROCEDURES

• You must meet all the eligibility criteria stated above.
• The deadline for submission of this application and all required documentation is 5:00 PM Tuesday, 31 January 2023.
• All sections of this application must be typed or legibly written to be considered.
• All applicants will receive written notification of a decision on their application.
• All decisions are final.

Scholarship Application: All sections must be completed, and the application must be signed.
Essay: Prepare and submit an essay. The essays should be written with the following theme: “the importance of service for others above self”
Transcripts: (a) official high school transcript (or a copy) must be received by the committee directly from your school, (b) If you are already attending college, an official transcript (or a copy) of your grades must be received by the committee directly from your school.
Three Reference Letters: One letter should be provided by a teacher, professor, or employer. The second letter should be a personal reference completed by a family member. The third letter should be from the Pastor of St. Stepanos Church.
