Bible Adventure and Father’s Day Picnic
The weekend of Saturday, June 24th and Sunday, June 25th was full of exciting activities and events at St. Stepanos Armenian Church in Elberon, NJ.
The weekend commenced Saturday morning with the annual bible sleepover camp. This year’s lesson was the story of David and Goliath. After a day full of activities, campers slept outdoors in tents overnight on the church grounds.
Divine Liturgy was celebrated by Father Daniel Karadjian Sunday morning, followed by the Father’s Day Picnic, the first of two summer picnics. The picnic menu included scrumptious “khorovadz,” chicken kebob, lule kebob, cheese boreg, and delicious desserts. Picnic goers enjoyed music, games, and fellowship on a beautiful sunny day.
During the picnic, a heartfelt good bye was expressed to the Housepian family, who are moving to California in July. Der Hayr and the Parish Council thanked Yurik, Arsen, and Inessa Housepian for their dedicated service and continued support to the parish.
Finally, the parish was happy to welcome Congressman Frank Pallone to the picnic. Congressman Pallone sat with parishioners and discussed issues in Armenia and in the United States.
