Our 2018 Christmas Concert
The First Sunday of the new 2018 brought upon the celebration of the Birth of Our Lord Jesus Christ, at St. Stepanos Armenian Church. After church services and the Requiem service dedicated to the Remembrance of the dead our annual Christmas Concert took place in the sanctuary. Mr. Armen Orbelyan, Master of Ceremonies, welcomed everyone to the event and made his wonderful opening words and comment on the Gospel of Luke ch. 2:8-20.
Over a dozen talented and promising parishioners contributed to this splendid event, by displaying their rich skills and attributes our youth performed or recited Armenian and Classical favorites on piano, violin and voice.
Participants included: St. Stepanos Church choir; Laura Magakyan (piano); Alisa and Larisa Avetisyan (piano and violin); Maria Topuzyan (piano); Kristina Orbelyan and Marie Hakobyan recited proem, Maya Orbelyan (the Gospel reading), Sofia and Mark Baraghamyan recited poem; David Avedisyan (piano) and Morris Lahham (voice and piano).
Our parish was blessed with the sharing of the priceless talent of our youth and with the performance our newly formed “Knar” Children Choir directed by Alyne Corrigan and Ashkhen Tadevosyan.
Fr. Daniel, after his closing remarks, gave to all participants Armenian traditional gifts-bags.
A lovely celebration also took place after this wonderful event. This year, the Parish Council decided to honor for their love, devotion, dedication and faithful service to the St. Stepanos Armenian Church: Mr. Armen Avedisyan, Mr. Armen Orbelyan and Mr. Arthur Avedisyan as “The Great Supporters of 2017 ”.
After a short break, the event continued with our traditional Luncheon.
