Armenian/Sunday School Field Trip – June 17th
On Saturday, June 17th the Armenian & Sunday of St. Stepanos had an exciting and enjoyable field trip to the Liberty Science Center (LSC) outside of Jersey City with Der Hayr leading us.
A bus from Stouts met us at the church with the planned departure to the LSC at 9:00 PM. We left at the planned time with everybody, the 40 parents and children on board. Three families went by car. This trip was for the children but because the LSC has so much in terms of scientific exhibitions it was equally enjoyable and educational for the parents. We all roamed and took in the presentations on our own but came together for the Planetarium show at 12:40 PM.
It was an exciting presentation but because of looking up so much at the motion in the presentation on the dome some of us experienced a little space motion sickness. After the 35-minute show, many of us went to lunch and then continued taking in the 4 levels of exhibits. We all boarded the bus and left the LSC at 4:00 PM.
This trip was conceived by Varduhi Brutyan and supported by Lilit Vardanyan with the two of them interfacing with the LSC people to set up a group trip that reduced the price of admission to the LSC. We thank them for their efforts since working with the LSC personnel was a bit tedious. We thank the Parish Council for authorizing and paying for the bus which made the trip even more enjoyable because it brought us all together.
