Easter Breakfast, Egg Hunt and Egg Cracking Contest
St. Stepanos Sunday/Armenian School
On Saturday April 7, 2018 the St. Stepanos Armenian Church Sunday and Armenian School had its annual Easter Breakfast, Egg Hunt and Egg Cracking Contest. Prior to the breakfast Der Daniel had a short service in the sanctuary which all of the children both appreciate because of Der Hayr’s ability to keep their attention.
After the service it was up to the hall and a breakfast of eggs, bacon, pancakes and other delights. All of the food was donated by the parents. Both teachers and parents helped in the preparation of the food and included Marie Haytaian, Jennifer Kozak, John Mouradian, Ryan Kozak, Ani Kozak, Tina Vartanian and Julie Alonso. After breakfast it was time for the egg cracking contest.True to their heritage, they eagerly grabbed an egg and began the contest under the guidance of Ashken Tadevosyan who also provided the colored eggs for the contest. It is so funny to hear their screams and joy when their egg did not crack.
During the egg cracking contest the plastic eggs filled with candy (with 8 of them filled with a special prize note) were placed outside by Taleen Terjanian, Ryan Kozak, Ani Kozak and Tina Vartanian. The children then were ready for the dash to the plastic eggs filled with candy and special prizes on the outside front and side lawn of the church. Their faces were full of smiles and it was well worth all of the effort. After the children checked their bounty and for some receiving the special prizes (Five Below Gift Cards) we were ready to clean up and end another special time at St. Stepanos Church.
Also, other than parents there were some of our younger parishioners who helped. We are blessed with wonderful parents, children and young parishioners.
