Mother’s Day

IMG_2871On May 13, Rev. Fr. Daniel celebrated Badarak and after his message dedicated to the feast of Second Palm Sunday and Mother’s Day, most of our parishioners gathered in the church hall for delicious luncheon.
The Women’s Guild of St. Stepanos Church organized a Talent Show devoted to Mothers Day. All of the children performed their individual talents as a way of thanking their mothers for all the love and care they unselfishly give to them. It was a splendid concert that also included creative exhibits from our talented children and adults as well.
Parishioners had a wonderful day partaking in a delicious meal while enjoying one another’s company. It was inspiring to witness the talents of a growing generation of Armenians in our midst.
The concert included a big variety of beginner and advanced performers – singers, poetry readers and musicians. It included the St. Stepanos Armenian School’s choir, “Lets go band”, flute ensemble, piano, guitar, accordion and violin players.

Visual art exhibitions were also very impressive and diverse. Kristina Orbelian presented her unique shell collection and art work. Yliya Gazarian presented her pictorial art inspired by Armenia and Artcax.

A contest was designed to determine the best advice from our mothers. The authors of the 3 best pieces of advice got special prizes.

This was a great event for a joyous community gathering and a perfect opportunity for our beginner youngsters and perhaps future artists to perform. The more established talents had a chance to show off their abilities as well. There was no better way to celebrate Mother’s day as there is no better gift for mothers than appreciating the Christian faith, art and talents of their children.
