It was a bittersweet celebration on Sunday, May 27th 2018. We marked the 100th anniversary of the First Republic of Armenia and the St. Stepanos Women’s Guild Day.

Special Requiem Service (Hokehankisd) was conducted by Der Hayr in memory of  all the deceased Women’s Guild members. The relatives and friends of deceased ladies were invited to remember and light a candle for their loved ones.

Then an elaborate fellowship hour followed at the church hall, prepared by Yn. Maraim and the WG members. The event concluded with a meaningful lecture on “The First Armenian Women’s Guild: Hripsime, Gayane and Their Companions” presented by Prof. Roberta Ervine of St. Nersess Seminary.

All of our parishioners who attended the event were grateful for this wonderful celebration of the the 100th anniversary of the First Republic of Armenia and the St. Stepanos Women’s Guild.
