“Life is Better with Music”

IMG_3177October is the Armenian Culture Month where we celebrate the Armenian spiritual, philosophical, intellectual and artistic life. The Holy Translators of the Armenian church are a dedicate group of literary figures, and saints of our nation, who founded the Armenian alphabet, translated the Bible, and started a movement of writing and translating important works into Armenian language.
On Sunday, October 14th, 2018, we had the opportunity to celebrate the feast of the Holy Translators with Badarak and a musical concert. The concert was titled “Life is Better with Music”.

Dn. Maurice Lahham, a dedicated server of our church, performed well know opera and popular songs being accompanied by his voice and piano professor, David De La Mora who also performed on Viola and Piano as well. Around forty people attended this concert. Der Hayr was the official host of this event and directed the program illuminating the audience with the importance of the translation of the Bible in Armenian, because during the times when our national identity and survival have been threatened, the Bible has been a source of strength and comfort. The concert concluded with the Lord’s Prayer. We thank Mrs. Azat Lahham who prepared the fellowship lunch.
